A complete Panasonic CO₂ system combines a heat pump and a storage tank, and its model number joins the two as [heat pump]-[tank]. The heat pump is either HE-UM40CR (4.0 kW) or HE-UM60CR (6.0 kW), and the tank is one of the Australian-made PHE tanks — so a full system reads, for example, HE-UM60CR-PHE-315ASR. NewGen supplies ten configurations across 250 L, 315 L and 400 L tanks.

HE-UM60CR-PHE-315ASR is a complete Panasonic CO₂ hot water system: the 6.0 kW HE-UM60CR heat pump paired with the 315 litre PHE-315ASR stainless steel tank. The first half identifies the heat pump output, the second half identifies the tank's capacity and material (ASR = stainless steel, AGR = vitreous enamel).

All ten of NewGen's Panasonic CO₂ systems are on Solar Victoria's eligible product list and qualify for the locally made incentive — a rebate of up to $1,400, rather than the standard $1,000 — because they use Australian-made tanks. They are the HE-UM40CR-PHE- and HE-UM60CR-PHE- combinations in 250 L, 315 L and 400 L. Eligibility criteria apply; NewGen confirms your eligibility and handles the paperwork.

Both are Australian-made and carry the same 10-year parts & labour warranty. ASR tanks are stainless steel (available in 250 L and 315 L); AGR tanks are vitreous enamel (available in 250 L, 315 L and 400 L). Stainless is highly corrosion-resistant; vitreous enamel is the only option in the 400 L size.

For most homes in Melbourne and across Victoria, NewGen recommends a stainless steel (ASR) tank: there's no sacrificial anode to inspect or replace, and it's highly corrosion-resistant. Our three most-installed systems are all stainless — HE-UM40CR-PHE-250ASR and HE-UM40CR-PHE-315ASR for typical households, and HE-UM60CR-PHE-315ASR where hot-water demand or faster recovery matters.
